Facilities

Camp Maria Retreat Center offers a Spiritual Center, Dining Lodge, small summer Chapel, Outdoor Altar area, Birdbath (bath house) and handicapped accessible summer and winter lodgings. Our buildings are not air-conditioned.

 

The Martin House and the Roost are open mid-February to Thanksgiving. The Cabins and Cottage are open May to October. The Office is open year-round. A total of 139 beds are available.

 

Blankets and pillows are provided - bring your own twin size sheets and towels.

 

Outdoor facilities include a playground, campfire site, basketball court, volleyball and softball areas. There is also a pool available in the summer and a handicapped accessible pier.

THE ROOST

The Roost features a comfortable “living/meeting” room with 11 semi-private bedrooms and 1 single room: 23 beds. Ceiling fans in all rooms. Open mid-February to Thanksgiving. Meeting room is 29’ by 24”.

 

THE MARTIN HOUSE

Dorm style accommodations with 16 single beds in two large rooms and 2 single rooms. Total: 18 beds. Open mid February to Thanksgiving.

RUSTIC CABINS

Five cabins with 8 single beds and one half bath. Three cabins with  10 single beds, two sets of bunk beds, and two half baths. One cabin has 9 singles, 3 sets of bunk beds and two half baths.

THE POOL and  PIER

The outdoor pool and pier have a chair lift for handicapped access. Canoes are available on the waterfront in the summer and the early fall.  Certified Lifeguards with current certifications must be present for use of pool and pier.  Lifeguard for hire:  Henry Boyles @ 301-475-1984 or jkboyles@md.metrocast.net - $7 per hour; Andrea Davis 301-373-4376 (H) or 301-481-5482 © - $10 per hour.

THE COTTAGE

The Cottage is for one person only. It has a single bed, study, a full bath, and a screened in porch. Available for private retreats.

SPIRITUAL CENTER

The Spiritual Center has a large room to accommodate 139 people plus two small reflection rooms, a restroom and a screened porch. The meeting room is 40’ by 41’.

CHAPELS

Religious facilities include a small summer chapel near the Spiritual Center and a newly renovated Outdoor Altar area overlooking Breton Bay.

THE DINING LODGE

The Dining Lodge accommodates 139 people, serves nutritious meals, and offers a view of Breton Bay and the pier.
